Director Katarzyna Minkowska and playwright Tomasz Walesiak have created anoriginal script for the performance – a portrait of a family in multi-generational crisis. It is a story about impossible decisions. About a family for whom forgiveness is exceptionally difficult to offer and about the need for acceptance inherent in family relationships. About how ridiculously we can behave in situations that are beyond us and how much we are capable of enduring before we decide to change anything.
A tragedy brings family members together – to the family home. For some it means a difficult return after a long absence, others have been there for decades. How does one talk about something that is unacceptable? How do you connect with a theoretically close person you know so little about? As the protagonists grapple with the situation, they keep invoking new narratives about it. They return to the past and manipulate their own memories. They apply layer after layer of dreams and fantasies on top of a reality that is difficult to bear. What fuels their hopes and nightmares is fear, fairy tales, video games and religion. Inner worlds blend together to create a whirlpool of imaginings
