The Whore from Ohio

Hanoch Levin “The Whore from Ohio” Translated by: Michał Sobelman Director: Bartosz Zaczykiewicz Set: Jan Kozikowski Stage movement: Leszek Bzdyl Premiere: June 28, 2015. Hoibitter the beggar on his seventieth birthday decides to buy himself a gift in the form of a few nice moments with a prostitute Brontsatski. The old man, however is pressed for money and tries to haggle. When, after long negotiations, the deal is finalized, it turns out he is an impotent. His son Hoimar finds the father embittered and stripped of shekels. This gives rise to mutual reproaches and accusations, but also to sincere expressions of feelings so far hidden behind the facade of cynicism and hostility. “The Whore from Ohio” is a story full of nostalgia and warm humor about loneliness and the search for love, unfulfilled dreams and not always easy relationship between father and son.

Starring: Małgorzata Abramowicz, Niko Niakas, Paweł Tchórzelski.
