In his large-scale, abstract oil paintings, Wolfgang Wirth pushes the boundaries of contemporary art. His works revolve around territories and spaces in their broadest sense, exploring the interplay between the internal and external borders, as well as the ways they can be crossed.

More than a purely visual experience, his painting functions as a form of research or inquiry—challenging conventions and questioning established perspectives. The exhibition Geometries of Change at the CCA in Toruń offers the most extensive showcase of Wirth’s artistic exploration to date. It highlights his distinctive approach to interpreting the complexities of an ethically and politically shifting reality. A notable aspect of the project is its Polish connection: in 2006, Wirth took part in an artist residency at Warsaw’s lokal_30 gallery, where he created Loop, now presented in a dedicated, custom-designed space.
